THE STORY OF THE GREEN LINE A NEW CYPRUS FILM SHOWN IN THE CINEMAS ALL OVER CYPRUS

The new film by Panicos Chrysanthos THE STORY OF THE GREEN LINE is shown from March 23rd to Cineplex cinemas in all cities. This is a Greek and Cypriot co-production, supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the European fund Eurimages, the Greek Film Center, ERT, RIK and the Media program. The film was shot in the green line of Nicosia, at Alaminos, Sotira and Pittokopo.
It is a history of the buffer zone. Kypros, a Greek Cypriot soldier who is sent to serve the "green line" of Nicosia, discovers that one of the opposing soldiers, Murat, resides at his own home. The war forced them both to move - Kypros from north to south and Murat from south to north. When Murat returns from his leave to the village, he brings to Kypros a gift from his home, a family photo, which evokes his own gosts. Inside the photo is his killed father and the girl he loved. When Murat suggests they each take a secret trip on the 'other side', Kypros accepts without thinking of the consequences.
The main roles are undertaken by actors Michael Sophocles, Cihan Tariman, Matthias Lier, Mary Moustakas, Andrea Tsouri, Theodore Michaelides, Baris Refikoglu, Achilleas Grammatikopoulos, Gianna Lefkatas Dimitris Scraper, Erdogan Kavaz, Andrea Argyrides utensils Polycarp and Simo Tsiakkas. Photography is by Nicos Kavoukides, music by Michalis Christodoulides, editing by Kyros Papavasileiou, sound by Constantinos Kittou, costumes by Kiki Miliou and art-direction by Paris Manoli.
